Regulatory Escalations Specialist

Role Overview

The Global Response Operations team within Meta’s Global Operations tackles real-time crises by proactively identifying emerging risks and conducting investigations to maximize community safety. This team specializes in creating tailored solutions to complex regulatory issues and emerging risks, safeguarding users by reducing negative interactions, and delivering insights that influence policy and regulatory decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on Meta’s Community Standards, regulatory policies, and region-specific social media laws.
• Investigate escalated reports across multiple platforms, disrupt malicious networks, and handle inquiries from sensitive global partners.
• Utilize project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor projects and initiatives effectively.
• Communicate investigative results and mitigation strategies clearly to leadership and external stakeholders including government agencies.
• Leverage data and analytical tools to enhance Meta’s processes and guide policy and business objectives.
• Prioritize and manage urgent, ambiguous escalations while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with global teams such as Public Policy, Legal, and Integrity to develop problem-solving strategies.
• Handle potentially graphic or objectionable content responsibly; the role may require shift work including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience managing operations, crisis, or risk in a technology or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of trust and safety, content integrity, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure, rapidly evolving setting.
• Experience managing projects in operations-focused environments.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive escalations by assessing urgency, communicating risks, and driving resolutions.
• Skilled in communicating findings and recommendations across functions including leadership and external partners.
• Experienced influencing outcomes across regions and teams.
• Comfortable working with graphic or objectionable content.
• Proficiency in data analysis to generate insights and support decision making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience incorporating AI technologies to optimize workflows and improve quality and efficiency.
• Knowledge of responsible and ethical AI practices such as risk assessment and bias mitigation.
• Ongoing development of AI-related skills including prompt engineering and system orchestration.
• Experience using data tools like SQL, Excel, and dashboards for data-driven analysis.
