Role Overview
The Regional Service Manager at Tesla leads service teams by promoting their growth, managing daily operations, and ensuring the service department surpasses customer expectations. This position offers the chance to transform the automotive service experience during a groundbreaking era in the industry. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Service, the role involves driving regional business initiatives, addressing intricate problems, and setting ambitious goals aligned with Tesla’s strategic objectives. Success in this role requires innovative thinking and delivering outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet monthly and quarterly objectives focused on customer service quality, team leadership, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.
- Engage proactively with both current and potential customers to exceed expectations, analyze service trends, and apply continuous enhancements.
- Establish and nurture a culture emphasizing leadership excellence and team development, including training, career advancement, succession planning, recruitment, and retaining talent.
- Ensure operational excellence by evaluating and improving service center performance, prioritizing safety and productivity.
- Oversee financial management, interpret business metrics, and guide daily operations to achieve targets related to quality, cost control, productivity, and revenue generation.
- Act in Tesla’s best interests by demonstrating sound decision-making, passion for the mission, and fostering a customer-centric environment.
- Build technical expertise by learning about all Tesla products, service systems, processes, and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Previous leadership roles in service-oriented sectors; automotive background is advantageous but not required.
- Experience managing teams exceeding 100 members across a broad geographical area is preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading field, technical repair, or manufacturing teams within fast-paced, tech-driven, customer-facing environments.
- Familiarity with managing complex procedures utilizing Lean methodology or similar process improvement tools.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
