About the Role
The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) seeks an experienced Regional Recruiter to lead talent acquisition efforts for multiple facilities in the Greater St. Louis area. This key role involves managing high-volume recruitment for clinical, administrative, and support positions while ensuring alignment with state-wide recruitment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement regional recruitment initiatives including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for challenging positions such as behavioral health clinicians, nurses, and direct care staff.
- Collaborate with regional facility directors and hiring managers to identify staffing needs, improve job descriptions, and tackle local labor market challenges.
- Track recruitment performance metrics like time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and retention rates to drive ongoing optimization.
- Design and lead targeted sourcing campaigns using community networks, job fairs, social media, and partnerships to develop diverse talent pools.
- Provide training for hiring managers on effective interview techniques and candidate engagement to ensure fair hiring practices.
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations including merit hiring, EEO, and proper applicant record maintenance.
- Work with central talent acquisition teams to standardize and tailor recruitment workflows for regional needs.
- Conduct regular audits of candidate pipelines, forecast hiring demands, and report obstacles to senior leadership for strategic intervention.
- Represent DMH at local recruiting events and networking sessions to bolster employer branding and attract qualified candidates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field, with 3-5 years of recruitment experience; relevant healthcare or government experience may substitute for education.
- In-depth knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, sourcing strategies, and applicant tracking systems.
- Strong understanding of employment laws (EEO, ADA, FLSA) applicable to public sector hiring.
- Advanced data analysis skills to monitor recruitment KPIs and generate performance insights.
- Proven leadership skills in guiding teams and managing recruitment drives across multiple sites.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage stakeholders at various levels.
- Adaptability and problem-solving capabilities to address regional workforce challenges creatively.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple hiring projects simultaneously.
Additional Information
The annual salary for this position can be up to $70000.08, depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates who qualify for pay differentials, such as retention incentives, may receive a higher total compensation.
