Recruiter I - AWS Infrastructure Services (Contract)

About the Role

This contract opportunity is with Amazon through an approved third-party provider, Tundra Technical Solutions. Selected candidates will be contract workers rather than direct Amazon employees. The role supports Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services, focusing on identifying and engaging technical talent to support AWS data centers, cloud, network, and software development engineering. The position is high-volume and top-of-funnel, requiring proactive sourcing and pipeline management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for various technical roles related to AWS infrastructure, including data center, cloud, network engineering, and SDE positions.
• Collaborate directly with lead recruiters and hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop effective sourcing strategies.
• Conduct high-volume candidate outreach through email and virtual channels; dedicate significant time to live conversations with candidates.
• Meet weekly targets including scheduling 36 phone screens and coordinating 5 to 7 interviews per week.
• Perform cold calls and engage passive candidates proactively, not relying on inbound applications.
• Balance relationships between hiring managers and candidates to effectively manage requisitions and pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 to 2 years of technical recruiting experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong proficiency in Boolean search techniques.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working at Amazon.
• Extensive background in sourcing, including cold outreach and engaging passive candidates.

Disqualifying Factors

• Lack of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Recent experience not focused on technical recruiting.
• Short employment durations, with the possible exception of contract roles.
• No experience managing large-scale, metrics-driven recruiting processes.

• The recruiting team operates like a business unit, with direct intake from managers, ownership of sourcing plans, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Logistics & Additional Information

• Start date: Immediate
• Contract duration: 12 months with possibility of extension or full-time conversion
• Work schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday core hours
• Location: Onsite in Arlington, VA; also possible Seattle, WA or Herndon, VA
• No overtime expected
• Interview process involves one round with a hiring manager or representative, focusing on technical recruiting skills, knowledge of AWS Infrastructure Services, Amazon’s Leadership Principles, and STAR interview technique.
• Compensation: $36 to $38 per hour
