Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position based in the United Arab Emirates involves conducting radiographic testing on materials, welds, and components to detect internal flaws and verify adherence to codes and client requirements. Daily tasks include preparing testing sites and equipment, operating radiographic devices, managing film or digital imagery, interpreting results using approved guidelines, and compiling detailed reports of the findings. The technician will liaise with supervisors, engineers, and clients to communicate outcomes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare work areas and radiographic testing apparatus.
• Position and operate radiographic equipment to capture internal images.
• Handle film and digital imaging systems safely and effectively.
• Interpret test results in line with established procedures and standards.
• Document inspection data accurately and prepare comprehensive test reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives to discuss inspection findings.
• Follow rigorous safety protocols, including radiation protection and PPE adherence.
• Maintain radiographic equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Support additional non-destructive testing tasks as required by project demands.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven expertise in radiographic testing techniques, including equipment setup and image assessment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as weld maps and inspection standards.
• Strong commitment to radiation safety and adherence to local and international health regulations.
• Attention to detail in documenting and reporting with clarity and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities for coordination on-site.
• Relevant NDT certification in RT (Level II or equivalent) and experience in industrial inspection.
• Willingness to work shifting hours and travel within the UAE as project needs dictate.
• Diploma or relevant technical qualification in engineering, physics, or related field preferred.
