About Givaudan and Role Overview
Join Givaudan in Singapore and be part of a global team dedicated to enriching human experiences by crafting innovative food, fragrance, and beauty solutions. As a Quality Control Analyst I on a one-year contract, you will work closely with research, creation, and production teams to ensure product excellence and consumer safety across the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various sensory quality assessments including organoleptic evaluations like odor and visual inspections such as color and appearance.
- Perform chemical analyses using wet chemical techniques (e.g., pH, acid values via titration and saponification).
- Measure physical properties such as specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, and flashpoint.
- Use advanced instrumentation including chromatography, GC-MS, infrared spectroscopy, and ICP to analyze sample composition.
- Record and maintain test data accurately in laboratory documentation and systems such as SAP.
- Identify and document any non-conformances; compile and analyze data for material-related investigations.
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar quality control or laboratory role.
- Prior exposure to sensory evaluation and analytical quality control is advantageous.
- Availability for shift work from 11am to 8pm and occasional overtime.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with laboratory and quality control methods.
- Proficient in SAP, database management, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Experience operating lab equipment such as weighing balances, densitometers, refractometers, moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrators, sieve testers, and gas chromatographs.
- Knowledge of chemical substances, hazardous materials, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Basic aptitude or potential for sensory evaluation techniques is desirable.
