Quality Assurance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join the Surfacing team located in Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty. This role involves practical, on-site responsibilities focused on ensuring surfacing works meet the required specifications and thorough documentation.

Key Duties

• Perform on-site quality testing for asphalt and surfacing projects.
• Gather, analyse, and log quality data and test outcomes accurately.
• Verify that all work complies with job instructions, set specifications, and standards.
• Coordinate communications with supervisors, engineers, and crew members throughout the project lifecycle.
• Complete quality records with precision and within given timelines.
• Assist with site tasks, including manual work, as necessary to support operations.

Candidate Profile

• Open to candidates eager to learn and committed to precision and detail.
• Preferably holds a Level 6 or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or possesses equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in surfacing, roading, or quality roles within civil construction is desirable.
• Exhibits meticulous attention to data and numerical information.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with site teams and supervisors.
• Possession of a Class 1 driver licence; Class 2 or WTR licensure is advantageous.
• Practical and flexible approach to work, including readiness to adapt working hours.
