Role Overview
The position of QA/QC Inspector Civil is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Arab Emirates. The primary responsibility is to oversee and inspect civil construction activities related to oil and gas facilities, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications, international standards, and company quality protocols. Key duties include conducting inspections on foundations, concrete works, structural components, and other related civil infrastructure; evaluating method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material approvals; and confirming that workmanship and materials comply with required quality benchmarks.
This role also entails collaboration with construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, preparing detailed inspection reports and nonconformance reports (NCRs), and monitoring follow-up on corrective and preventive measures. Additionally, the inspector supports welding and civil interface inspections, participates in site audits, and actively contributes to enhancing quality management practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven expertise in quality control and inspection of civil works, particularly in industrial or oil and gas sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Management systems, procedures, and documentation related to construction activities.
- Proficiency in welding inspection concerning civil structures, with a sound understanding of relevant codes and standards.
- A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field, with advantageous QA/QC certifications such as ISO, CSWIP, AWS, or equivalents.
- Familiarity with international construction standards and codes including ACI, BS/EN, ASTM, and prior exposure to EPC project environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection/test plans and to formulate clear inspection, NCR, and quality documentation.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities, capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary, multicultural teams on remote projects.
- Experienced in QA/QC roles for large-scale oil and gas projects.
