QA/QC Engineer - Interior Fit-Out

About the Role

We are partnering with a reputable Interior Fit-Out Contractor based in Abu Dhabi to find a skilled QA/QC Engineer. This role goes beyond conventional QA/QC tasks centered on documentation and inspections, requiring a candidate with a deep technical grasp of interior fit-out materials, installation techniques, and quality finishing standards. The ideal engineer will apply hands-on experience to detect quality concerns early on.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all quality assurance and control activities across premium interior fit-out projects.
• Perform thorough inspections during construction to verify compliance with project requirements and quality benchmarks.
• Examine finishing works such as joinery, glasswork, stone, marble, gypsum ceilings, flooring, painting, metalwork, and ironmongery for quality adherence.
• Judge workmanship quality, identify defects, and implement necessary corrective steps.
• Facilitate the management of Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), inspections, and approvals from consultants.
• Supervise subcontractors ensuring their quality aligns with approved materials and installation standards.
• Lead snagging and de-snagging processes, culminating in final handover inspections.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 3 years of QA/QC experience specifically with Interior Fit-Out contractors in the UAE.
• Extensive technical knowledge of interior fit-out materials and finishing systems.
• Well-versed in material specifications, durability factors, installation practices, and quality standards.
• Hands-on expertise inspecting joinery, glass, marble, stonework, ceilings, flooring, painting systems, and ironmongery.
• Ability to spot defects, evaluate workmanship, and make informed technical quality decisions on-site.
• Strong background in QA/QC documentation procedures including WIRs, MIRs, and NCRs.
• Experience executing upscale fit-out projects within commercial, hospitality, residential, or mixed-use developments.
• Excellent communication and coordination capabilities to liaise effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Compensation and Additional Information

The role offers a salary budget of AED 15,000 per month. This position is ideal for a technically proficient QA/QC Engineer who enjoys hands-on site work, understands the finer points of high-quality interior finishes, and can confidently uphold stringent installation standards.
