Department Overview
The UC Department of Athletics fields 18 varsity teams and supports more than 450 student-athletes. The athletics program boasts a storied history including eight national championships and 118 conference titles, alongside prominent alumni like Oscar Robertson and Sandy Koufax. Recently, UC joined the Big 12 Conference, elevating its status nationally. Academically, student-athletes achieved a record 3.54 GPA in Fall 2025. The department is staffed by over 150 full-time professionals committed to enriching community ties and student-athlete success.
Position Summary
The Program Director for the C-Club will act as the main liaison with UC's former student-athlete community to foster a Letterwinners organization that supports athletics through programs, events, and networking. Key duties include managing communications, driving membership engagement, organizing hallmark events such as the Hall of Fame and Homecoming tailgate, and collaborating with coaches and UC alumni groups to maintain active involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary relationship management with UC former athletes.
- Support and organize Hall of Fame and C-Club events.
- Lead communication efforts including newsletters and digital platforms (e.g., Bearcats Circle app).
- Collaborate with UCATS to enhance former athlete engagement.
- Coordinate alumni events and advisory board activities.
- Maintain and update athlete databases in partnership with UCATS/Foundation.
- Develop strategies for recruitment and retention of former student-athletes.
- Organize career networking bridging current and former athletes.
- Administer budgets, prepare financial reports, and implement departmental policies.
- Supervise exempt and non-exempt staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience may substitute educational requirements.
- Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience or specialized training.
- At least four years of experience in program development or business administration.
Work Environment
Position is based in an office setting with no unusual physical demands.
