Production Manager

Overview

Birla Cosmetics Private Limited seeks a Production Manager based at its Mumbai headquarters. Reporting to the Lead Supply Chain, this role centers on managing production planning, coordinating with manufacturing partners, monitoring quality and compliance, and overseeing vendor relations to meet production targets effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to implement production plans aligned with sales forecasts.
• Track and ensure timely completion of production schedules, proactively addressing any delays or challenges.
• Serve as the main liaison with assigned vendors, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, quality standards, and dispatch plans.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and customs teams to manage the timely availability of imported SKUs and packaging materials.
• Maintain quality oversight by working closely with the New Product Development team and conducting vendor site visits for quality control and approvals.
• Prepare regular production, inventory, and vendor coordination reports while maintaining documentation and updating ERP/MIS systems.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Commerce, or a related field.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience encompassing production planning, supply chain coordination, contract manufacturing, vendor management, and inventory planning.
• Demonstrate strong coordination skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and lookup functions), and solid communication abilities.
• Understand supply chain, inventory, manufacturing processes, and quality management principles.
• Be willing to undertake significant travel (approximately 70%) to vendor and manufacturing sites for production monitoring, quality inspections, and issue resolution.
