About the Role

Join BSI, a global leader with over 125 years of expertise in product certification, dedicated to enhancing safety, trust, and performance across industries. We are searching for a Product Certification Auditor to support our certification schemes by conducting detailed product audits, particularly within structural steel, concrete, aggregates, and construction products sectors.

This field-based role involves extensive travel across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK, offering a chance to collaborate with leading manufacturers and influence future product compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile thorough assessment reports and effectively communicate evaluation outcomes to clients, ensuring clarity on certification statuses and corrective measures when necessary.
  • Recommend certification issuance, renewal, or withdrawal following BSI's policies, procedures, and timelines.
  • Manage assigned client accounts to foster strong partnerships, deliver excellent service, and support business growth.
  • Lead audit teams by providing briefings and maintaining service quality, nurturing productive relationships within teams and with clients.
  • Coordinate closely with support services to keep client records accurate and fulfill internal reporting needs promptly.
  • Mentor less experienced auditors and assist in onboarding new team members.
  • Organize workloads efficiently to optimize time management and revenue generation.
  • Engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to achieve Lead Assessor status, involving standardized audit knowledge assessments.
  • Oversee client portfolios, plan and schedule assessment visits, handle travel logistics, and manage assessment reporting and outcomes effectively.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in a product manufacturing setting, emphasizing quality management or product certification.
  • Educational background preferably in engineering or manufacturing-related fields.
  • Prior experience in product assessment or auditing against industry standards.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently as required by the role.
  • Familiarity with quality management system audit practices, especially ISO 9001, with Lead Auditor certification being highly advantageous.
