Role Overview
We are hiring an experienced Procurement Manager for a client in the construction industry. The position focuses on building and running procurement processes that support business goals, keep spending under control, and ensure goods and services are sourced efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, roll out, and oversee procurement plans that support organizational priorities.
- Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to achieve the best commercial terms and pricing.
- Handle procurement workflows such as RFQs, RFPs, purchase orders, and contract discussions.
- Track supplier performance and resolve concerns related to quality, delivery timelines, or compliance.
- Keep procurement files and records accurate and aligned with internal procedures and legal or regulatory expectations.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and deliver on time.
- Review purchasing information to spot trends, reduce costs, and improve processes.
- Maintain spending discipline and support budget control efforts.
- Guide, support, and develop procurement team members.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions.
- Strong abilities in negotiation and vendor relationship management.
- Hands-on experience with procurement platforms and ERP tools such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Good knowledge of contract law and accepted procurement practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to juggle several priorities in a busy, fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional credentials such as CPM, CPSM, or CIPS are an advantage.
- Exposure to sustainability-focused and ethical sourcing practices is preferred.
