Job Overview

This senior role leads the design, modeling, and continual improvement of Maaden’s enterprise data architecture applied across Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) domains. It ensures data products, enterprise data layers, and integration frameworks adhere to standards, scalability, quality, and governance policies. The position provides expert advisory and leadership on how diverse OT and IT data flows should be harmonized and modeled to enable analytics, operational efficiency, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and broad enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business domain requirements, conforming to Maaden architecture standards and modeling best practices.
Lead design and tuning of data product models, enterprise data schemas, and domain-driven structures for both OT and IT data sources.
Ensure modeling accommodates specific technology requirements like relational, non-relational, time-series, and streaming data architectures.
Design unified modeling approaches tailored to the complexities of OT environments including remote, disconnected, and heterogeneous mining and manufacturing sites, addressing data ingestion methods, latency, and operational constraints.
Establish integration patterns that guarantee consistent transformation rules, metadata management, data lineage, and quality across the OT-IT divide.
Define and uphold enterprise modeling standards, guidelines, and reusable templates to maintain organizational coherence.
Review and approve modeling outputs produced by internal teams and external vendors.
Mentor and develop the skills of data modelers, engineers, and analysts to enhance enterprise-level modeling capabilities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
Master’s degree is preferred, ideally in Data Architecture, Software Engineering, or AI/Analytics fields.
10 to 15 years of expertise in data modeling, data architecture, or enterprise information architecture roles.
Proven track record designing models and architectures spanning OT and IT landscapes.
Strong proficiency with cloud-native platforms, with preference for Microsoft Azure, modern data platforms, metadata tools like Informatica, and relevant modeling standards and frameworks.

Understanding of OT systems such as SCADA, DCS, historians, and sensors alongside IT data platforms.
Expertise designing end-to-end data flows from edge devices to cloud architectures encompassing ingestion, storage, curation, and consumption layers.
Familiarity with data modeling tools including Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx EA and lineage or governance solutions.
