Principal Contracts Manager

Overview

Wood is currently recruiting a Principal Contracts Manager to support its project operations related to the development of a new gold mine and processing plant located at a remote site in Saudi Arabia. The role includes overseeing contracts associated with site services such as camp management, logistics, maintenance, and general operational services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer vendor contracts from initiation through to full execution, ensuring they comply with both project and organizational standards.
• Assess contract deliverables, handle variations, review change orders and claims to verify they meet contractual conditions.
• Ensure all commercial and contractual arrangements align with project objectives, company policies, and client expectations.
• Act as the main liaison among vendors, engineering teams, procurement units, and client representatives to address contractual and commercial challenges.
• Assist with internal and external contract audits, evaluate supplier performance, and participate in contract closure activities.
• Track contract timelines, milestones, and financial commitments to guarantee punctual completion and accurate reporting.
• Identify risks related to vendor performance and contract compliance and support measures to mitigate such risks.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is required.
• At least 10 years of contract management experience within EPC or EPCM project environments.
• Proven expertise managing OEM and equipment supply contracts; experience with technology vendors or comparable suppliers is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC or equivalent contract frameworks.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail when reviewing commercial and contractual materials.
