About Cubic Transportation Systems
Cubic is a global technology company focused on improving everyday travel through transport solutions and supporting defense capabilities that help mission success and safety. Its teams work across the world to solve real problems through innovation and strong customer service. Cubic’s portfolio includes Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) and Cubic Defense (CD).
Role Overview
The Pre-Commissioning Technician supports the preparation, checking, packing, and coordination of ticketing equipment before installation. The role combines technical checks, stock handling, kit assembly, inventory control, and communication with internal stakeholders to help keep projects on track and meet service commitments.
Key Duties
Pre-commissioning work: Carry out detailed checks on ticketing equipment to confirm it works correctly and meets specification. Run diagnostics, apply firmware updates, and complete initial testing to identify issues before deployment. Record test outcomes and produce clear reports for project managers and other stakeholders.
Packing and handling: Package ticketing equipment securely using suitable protective materials to avoid transit damage. Accurately label and sort items in line with project needs and inventory controls.
Stock picking and kit building: Select stock for kits using project-specific bills of materials. Assemble complete kits with the required parts and tools for installation teams, then verify the contents against inventory records.
Quality assurance: Check the condition and quality of components before dispatch and perform final inspections to ensure the equipment meets project expectations and customer requirements.
Inventory and service support: Track requests and escalate them promptly to help Cubic meet contractual service levels. Keep inventory records accurate, flag shortages or mismatches, and work with procurement and warehouse teams to replenish stock on time.
Coordination and communication: Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and internal and external stakeholders. Respond promptly, professionally, and courteously to calls and emails. Work closely with project managers, installation teams, and logistics staff to keep packing and pre-commissioning aligned with schedules, and provide progress updates or issue resolutions as needed.
Health, safety, compliance, and general duties: Follow workplace health and safety procedures when handling heavy or sensitive items. Ensure packing and pre-commissioning activities comply with applicable standards and regulations. Capture fault-management and preventive-maintenance data accurately in the service management tool, share product knowledge, support the operations team in delivering customer satisfaction, and comply with Cubic’s quality, safety, environment, security, and HR policies. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
