About Us
Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI). We strive to enhance service quality through innovation and uphold our vision of a barrier-free society for people with SCI. Our services include improving functionality through exercise, providing comprehensive information and peer support, advocating for social change, delivering home care, aiding in employment and education reintegration, and operating an Australian Disability Enterprise that employs people with disabilities. Additionally, we offer transitional accommodation for those returning home from hospital or needing respite.
Founded by individuals with SCI, our team comprises 33% staff with disabilities. Our membership exceeds 2,000, including people with disabilities, carers, families, and professionals. As an NDIS provider, we ensure compliance with national practice standards and safeguards. SCIA and NeuroMoves are now part of the Royal Rehab Group, a leading Australian rehabilitation service provider.
