About the Role

ABPS Medicon seeks a skilled female Phlebotomist to join our Sugar Clinic team in Kolkata. The role centers on performing blood collection duties directly at patients' locations within the clinic environment, prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and precision in specimen handling. Prior experience with Apollo Diagnostic is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures to collect blood samples efficiently and safely from patients in home settings, adhering strictly to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
• Accurately label, document, and handle blood specimens, ensuring proper preparation and preservation for laboratory transportation.
• Engage with patients and their caregivers courteously, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing clear pre- and post-collection guidance.
• Maintain compliance with all medical and safety regulations, including infection control and confidentiality standards, while documenting patient data accurately in electronic records.
• Oversee cleanliness and functionality of phlebotomy equipment, performing maintenance and troubleshooting of portable devices as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to coordinate schedules, report patient responses, and address any sample collection challenges.
• Commit to continuous professional development by keeping abreast of advances in phlebotomy techniques and participating in relevant educational activities.
• Ensure personal contact details remain confidential and are not shared with patients.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent educational attainment.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Certification as a phlebotomist (such as DMLT or BMLT) or qualifications like GNM/ANM are preferred.
• Familiarity with EGC procedures is considered an asset.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between 8000 and 17000 INR per month.
