Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Perfumist position in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The selected candidate will create, balance, and refine fragrances in line with brand direction and market demand. The job includes choosing and assessing raw materials, building fragrance formulas, recording compositions, and running stability and performance checks. You will work closely with product development, marketing, and sales teams to turn ideas into fragrances ready for the market, and revise formulas based on feedback. The role also requires adherence to applicable safety, regulatory, and quality requirements, along with careful maintenance of trial notes and approval records.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, blend, and fine-tune fragrance compositions that align with brand standards and customer expectations.
- Select, review, and work with raw materials, including both natural and synthetic ingredients.
- Create fragrance accords and adjust formulas to achieve the desired scent profile and product performance.
- Maintain accurate formula documentation, trial records, and approval histories.
- Conduct stability, performance, and quality evaluations for fragrance trials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert product concepts into commercially viable fragrance solutions.
- Modify formulations based on internal review and market or stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure work follows relevant safety, regulatory, and quality control standards.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of fragrance families, olfactory notes, and perfume raw materials.
- Proven ability in perfume formulation, blending, and evaluation.
- Capability to build and adjust complex fragrance accords.
- Experience in documenting formulas and following structured testing and quality procedures.
- Strong sensory assessment skills, including the ability to judge longevity, sillage, and overall performance.
- Ability to work with product, marketing, and sales teams to shape fragrance concepts.
- Familiarity with safety practices and basic cosmetic or chemical compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to experimentation and problem-solving.
- A background in chemistry, cosmetic science, perfumery, or a related discipline; specialized perfumery training is an added advantage.
- Previous exposure to a perfumery lab, fragrance house, or similar industry setting is highly preferred.
