Team and Work Environment
The People & Talent team, based in central Manchester overlooking Albert Square, consists of around 20 members supporting approximately 1,200 colleagues across Bruntwood Group and its subsidiaries. Role Purpose
This position involves a diverse and fast-paced workload, including advising managers, supporting staff, and managing employee relations. The role requires analytical thinking and a proactive approach to enhance employee experience and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the entire employee lifecycle and crucial people practices to ensure a smooth employee experience.
- Providing detailed data analysis and reporting on people metrics to offer actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Handling employee relations cases with a coaching approach that balances empathy, compliance, and risk management.
- Supporting People Partners in activities such as TUPE, organizational change, and transformation projects.
- Assisting in broader HR services including recruitment, payroll, engagement, wellbeing, and learning and development.
- Contributing to the delivery of people plans, notably initiatives driven from colleague engagement surveys.
- Developing and facilitating workshops to empower managers in managing people effectively and independently.
- Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures to keep them compliant, practical, and culturally aligned.
- Collaborating with the People & Talent team to create resources that encourage employee ownership of performance, careers, and learning.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing a complex employee relations caseload.
- Strong knowledge of employment law with a history of reducing business risks.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and react promptly to casework and inquiries, while also leading projects.
- Experience designing and delivering training workshops.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and utilize data for process improvements.
- Effective coaching, consulting, and constructive challenge abilities.
- Motivated to advance professionally in a role that values impactful contributions.
- Team-oriented, collaborating to enhance company processes and employee experience.
- Pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to human resources management, avoiding bureaucracy.
