Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pathology Collector Reliever to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. You will collect blood and other samples while providing compassionate, professional care to patients. This position involves working across various collection centers and hospitals in the Baldivis area, covering planned and unplanned absences by stepping into shifts as required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect blood and non-blood specimens accurately and with care.
• Offer a welcoming and reassuring experience to patients.
• Prepare and package biological samples according to established transport protocols.
• Maintain meticulous records and adhere to procedural requirements.
• Adapt quickly to different sites, teams, and work processes ensuring smooth daily operations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience in pathology collection is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certificate III in Pathology Collection is desirable but not essential.
• Relevant healthcare experience such as aged care, disability support, or nursing is welcomed, especially for those transitioning into pathology collection.

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid full driver's license and access to reliable personal transport.
• Willingness and ability to travel between multiple collection locations.
• Valid Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Proof of immunization including Hepatitis B.

Training Program

This role entails a six-week paid training course designed to equip you with the necessary skills for successful collections. Full-time commitment is required for the initial two weeks, followed by a minimum of 25 hours per week. The training is conducted internally through the Healius Academy and may be accelerated based on your experience.
