Role Purpose
The Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of designated packaging machinery and processes to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate packaging equipment and oversee related processes to optimize performance.
- Analyze and implement the production plans for the assigned shift.
- Run both manual and automatic machines on the production line according to company standards.
- Maintain product quality and maximize productivity.
- Carry out administrative duties such as monitoring and tracking processes, responding promptly to issues.
- Manage Performance Information Management System (PIMS) & Production Operations Management System (POMS), and address any adverse trends with corrective measures.
- Utilize Operational Feedback Reports (OFRs) triggered by specific events.
- Contribute to AB InBev internal reports as needed.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working atmosphere.
Key Attributes and Competencies
- Proven experience making commercially driven decisions within a packaging environment, focusing on financial, operational, and personnel aspects.
- Strong record of disciplined work ethic with dedication to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable health, safety, and labor laws.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Post-secondary qualification such as N4 National Diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of an IOB Certificate is an advantage.
- At least nine months of on-the-job training, including successful completion of SKAP within 12 months.
- Experience in a packaging role within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
