Owner Driver - Prime Mover Delivery Partner

Position Overview

Join Team Global Express at Villawood as an Owner Driver to independently operate your prime mover, delivering freight across Sydney and the nearby regions. This role is ideal for experienced owner-drivers looking to partner with a reputable logistics company and be their own boss.

Main Duties

• Handle pickup and delivery of various general and containerised cargo within the Full Container Load (FCL) rail business unit.
• Transport goods securely and safely, adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
• Comply strictly with road safety protocols, fatigue management rules, and chain of responsibility laws.
• Accurately complete all delivery documentation promptly.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch and operations for updates on schedules and any delays.
• Meet agreed delivery deadlines and uphold high service standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service throughout all delivery points.

Candidate Requirements

• Own a prime mover that is no older than five years, meeting Euro 5 Emissions standards and equipped with in-cab cameras (4-way), parking brake alarms, and a trailer coupling risk reduction system.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of Sydney metropolitan and surrounding areas.
• Demonstrate solid time management skills and flexibility to adjust to changing environments and schedules.
• Possess thorough understanding of load restraint guidelines.
• Previous experience driving semi-trailers is essential.
• Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and necessary insurances.
• Have full legal working rights in Australia.

Insurance Coverage

• Maintain comprehensive motor vehicle insurance including third-party liability with minimum coverage of $20 million.
• Carry public liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $20 million.
• Ensure freight or marine insurance with a minimum coverage of $50,000.
