OutSystems Technical Lead

Role Overview

The OutSystems Technical Lead will design, develop, and deploy applications built on the OutSystems platform aimed at enhancing business processes and workflows. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to collect requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and user stories. The candidate will be responsible for customizing OutSystems components, modules, and integrations to fulfill project objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data models, business logic, and user interfaces utilizing OutSystems visual development features and industry best practices.
• Conduct thorough unit testing, debug issues, and troubleshoot to ensure applications are reliable and of high quality.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and testing teams to validate application functionality, performance, and security.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members.
• Keep up-to-date with the newest trends, best practices, and capabilities of the OutSystems platform.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Extensive hands-on experience (5 to 7 years) as an OutSystems Developer, demonstrating strong expertise in application development on the OutSystems platform.
• Solid grasp of software development methodologies, principles, and best practices.
• Expertise in OutSystems features including visual modeling, data modeling, logic flow design, and creating engaging user interfaces.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Proficient with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledgeable about relational databases, SQL querying, and database design fundamentals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex business needs and architect scalable solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• OutSystems certifications such as Associate or Professional Developer credentials are advantageous.
• Experience in leadership or senior development positions is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile practices, DevOps processes, integration of external APIs and services, as well as testing frameworks and performance tuning techniques.
