Ocean Freight Specialist - Import

About the Role

DP World is looking for dedicated logistics professionals to join our Freight Forwarding team based in Hamburg. As an Ocean Freight Specialist focusing on imports, you will be instrumental in planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing Regional Freight Forwarding Operations. Your role will be vital in advancing key strategies and ensuring high standards of operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate file creation and manage all freight forwarding and logistics processes.
• Support account initiations by collaborating with sales teams to gather necessary documentation and information for SOPs.
• Conduct weekly audits to ensure compliance regarding estimates, profit margins, and prompt invoicing.
• Assist clients with daily requests related to import/export documentation facilitating smooth transportation processes.
• Communicate comprehensive sailing information to clients to maintain seamless information flow.
• Negotiate with ocean carriers to secure optimal capacity and cost solutions for transportation execution.
• Collaborate with internal DP World networks and external partner agents to provide excellent service support.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations that may arise during the handling of ocean freight files.
• Work closely with operations colleagues to manage workload fluctuations effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A degree in logistics, supply chain, or related disciplines.
• At least two years of experience in the Freight Forwarding sector with a specialization in Ocean Freight.
• Strong multitasking abilities to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical capabilities with a keen eye for detail and numeric analysis.
• Fluent communication skills in both English and German.
