About Ambulance Provident Fund
Ambulance Provident Fund (APF) has been providing financial security since 1981 by offering affordable and immediate financial assistance to beneficiaries of its members in the event of a member's death. APF aims to become a national fund recognized for fairness, transparency, integrity, and compassion, supporting members’ beneficiaries with peace of mind.
Role Overview
APF is inviting an independent volunteer Non-Executive Director to join its Board to guide strategic growth and ensure sustainable governance. This voluntary role involves collaborating with other directors to maintain APF's financial stability, assure accountability, and respond effectively to member needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and governance to steer APF's growth and sustainability.
- Contribute to contemporary governance practices and organizational resilience.
- Engage in stewardship of financial performance and investment management.
- Support enhanced engagement with members and stakeholders.
- Assist in sustainable membership growth and national expansion efforts.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Expertise in financial management, treasury or investment oversight.
- Experience in actuarial, insurance, superannuation, or mutual fund sectors.
- Background in strategic growth, business development, or membership organizations.
- Prior board experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with not-for-profit, emergency services, healthcare, or community-focused organizations is a plus.

Board Commitments
The Board convenes about six times annually, combining in-person and virtual meetings. Directors are also expected to participate in strategic planning, committees, and other governance duties as needed.
