About the Role

Join Te Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, in a vital role supporting The Coroners Court through our small, dedicated team providing a 24/7 service. As the initial contact for inbound enquiries, you will assess callers' needs accurately, ensuring appropriate responses and actions based on your expertise.

Your responsibilities will also include managing various administrative tasks linked to cases reported to the Coroner. You will maintain critical communication between the Coroner and other stakeholders by effectively using file management systems to facilitate information access and uphold an efficient service.

  • Strong ability to listen attentively, analyse information swiftly, and make confident, accurate decisions.
  • Capacity to manage emotionally challenging and stressful scenarios with composure and empathy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Ensuring sensitive and critical case information is properly stored, retrieved, and communicated to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience collecting and organizing correspondence from diverse internal and external sources.

Role Requirements

  • Availability to work all shifts on a rotating 24/7 roster including early mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays (shifts: 07:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30, 15:30-00:00, 23:00-07:30).
  • Willingness to work flexibly across all rostered shift types.
  • Possession of NCEA Level 2 qualification or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
