Job description

Role Overview

Uniting invites applications for experienced NDIS Local Area Coordinators to join their team full-time in Charlestown or Raymond Terrace. This permanent position entails 38 hours weekly, with the flexibility to work from home two days each week. The remuneration starts at SCHADS 401 scale with an annual salary of $92,000 plus superannuation and potential salary packaging benefits up to $18,550.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting individuals with disabilities, their families, and carers to access community, mainstream, and NDIA Grant-funded services through referrals and linkages.
  • Engaging in comprehensive training to gain expertise in the NDIS system and Uniting's support methodologies for participants’ diverse needs.
  • Supporting participants throughout the different phases of their NDIS journey by providing guidance and information to help them make informed decisions on their plans.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by Service Area Leadership, aligned with the role's responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and strong time management capabilities.
  • Has a background or lived experience in disability services, with understanding of the NDIS and Local Area Coordination.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently in environments driven by key performance indicators and deadlines.
  • Exhibits adaptability, empathy, resourcefulness, and embodies Uniting’s values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience personally living with disability or caregiving for someone with a disability is highly regarded.
