Molecular Biologist - Phylogenetics Expert (Remote, Contract)

Position Overview

This is a short-term contract opportunity for a Molecular Biologist specializing in phylogenetics. The role involves remote work, requiring approximately 15-20 hours across several days, including a daily commitment of at least 8 hours with a minimum 4-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST). Compensation is set at $30 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Critically review AI-generated phylogenetics problems, research assignments, and evaluation scenarios for scientific validity and correctness.
• Ensure problems are realistic, scientifically accurate, and properly graded.
• Assess AI-generated biological responses for their accuracy, reasoning soundness, and completeness.
• Detect any scientific inaccuracies, logical flaws, or omissions within phylogenetics-related content.
• Provide comprehensive annotations, constructive criticism, and quality evaluations to improve AI outputs.
• Collaborate closely with AI research teams to refine evaluation workflows and benchmarking practices.
• Utilize expertise in phylogenetics and evolutionary biology to support state-of-the-art AI model development.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a Master's degree or PhD in Phylogenetics, Evolutionary Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; alternatively, at least four years of professional experience in Phylogenetics.
• Strong skills in scientific reasoning, analysis, and research.
• Capability to deliver detailed feedback and high-quality annotations.
• Excellent skills in structured communication and remote collaboration.
• A self-driven attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to begin work immediately and commit approximately 15-20 hours over the subsequent days.
• Availability for 8 hours daily, with a minimum of 4 hours overlapping PST time zone.
