About the Role
Priority Drilling Limited is a family-run mineral exploration drilling contractor with a track record of delivering drilling services since 1954. The company emphasizes long-term growth, offering training, development support, and a competitive salary for both seasoned drillers and candidates with the right mindset and eagerness to learn.
Essential Requirements
- Practical, verifiable experience in mineral exploration drilling
- Experience working with core sizes AQ, AQTK, BQ, BQTK, NQ, and H, whether underground or on surface
- Good communication abilities
- Readiness to travel for work
- Valid, clean driving licence
- Legal permission to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
- Directional or navigational drilling experience
- Completion of drilling operations exceeding 1,000 metres
- Experience using zero trip wedges
Training
Training can be provided in the areas listed above for applicants who do not already have this experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily running of the drill rig, lead the drill crew, and operate the related drilling tools and equipment.
- Position and align the rig correctly using front and back sights, then set the drilling angle and collar the hole to match client specifications.
- Drill to the target depth while preserving maximum core recovery and adjusting progress to suit ground conditions and hole depth.
- Carry out hole surveys using the required surveying tools at client-specified depths and ensure the hole is surveyed properly.
