Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering to join our team. The role involves designing and developing welding and assembly fixtures as well as inspection gauges, with hands-on skills in both 2D & 3D modeling and detailed manufacturing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop welding and assembly fixtures alongside inspection gauges.
- Create 2D and 3D CAD models, prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Tool Room departments to support development and trials of fixtures and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and improve designs based on production and quality feedback.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of tool room practices, machining, fabrication, and sheet metal components.
- Familiarity with jigs, fixtures, gauges, and inspection equipment design.
- Practical experience with various measuring instruments including Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
Additional Requirements
Excellent communication abilities paired with problem-solving skills are essential for effective cross-functional collaboration and design improvements.
