Role Summary
The Market Development Representative (MDR) is responsible for generating new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients primarily through phone calls and targeted emails. This role involves qualifying leads by assessing their business strategies and aligning Docusign’s suite of products to meet their needs. The position is heavily focused on outbound prospecting, with approximately 80% of the time dedicated to telephone outreach. MDRs are provided with comprehensive training centered on strategic selling and research of targeted accounts, offering valuable exposure within a rapidly growing SaaS environment. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Manager of Market Development Representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to prospective clients in Docusign’s primary vertical markets to offer customized solutions that enhance business processes.
- Arrange meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives across various segments including SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise.
- Utilize CRM software effectively to document prospect interactions and identify additional sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to devise email and LinkedIn campaigns targeting increased brand visibility for both the company and the individual.
Work Arrangement
This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring a split between in-office and remote work. Employees must be present onsite a minimum of two days weekly, with access to the office as necessary. Docusign may adjust job designations from remote, hybrid, or onsite based on business needs and comply with local regulations.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications:
- A university degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- At least two years of experience in outbound sales.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous exposure to the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry.
- A motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated work ethic.
- Ability to build and sustain strong business relationships.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
