Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop departmental leaders fostering accountability, engagement, and ongoing improvement
- Set performance standards and manage goal-setting, development, and evaluations for reports
- Advance organizational skills via talent development, succession planning, and leadership mentorship
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
- Oversee safety culture and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory safety standards
- Collaborate on risk management, incident response, and emergency readiness
- Manage and optimize mountain operations departments including Lift Experience, Snowmaking, Grooming, Ski Patrol, Terrain Parks, and Building Maintenance
- Drive initiatives to improve operational performance, cost efficiency, guest satisfaction, and employee productivity
- Analyze performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Adapt to changing priorities and environmental conditions while maintaining service quality
- Prepare and govern departmental budgets, monitor finances, and implement cost-saving strategies
- Foster cross-department collaborations and participate in leadership and enterprise-wide initiatives
- Manage relationships with contractors and vendors ensuring quality and compliance
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, and administrative duties as needed
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- At least three years of leadership experience in complex, fast-paced operations
- Proven capability managing multiple operational teams or departments
- Strong financial management skills including budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business-oriented software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks
- Willingness to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
- Intermediate or advanced skills in skiing or snowboarding
Preferred Experience
- Background in ski resorts, mountain operations, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or related fields
- Experience managing unionized or seasonal workforces
- Familiarity with mountain resort systems such as snowmaking, lifts, grooming, and facilities
Additional Information
This is a year-round, full-time position based onsite with no housing provided. Starting annual compensation ranges from $61,122 to $87,317 plus an annual bonus. Age minimum requirement is 18 years.
