Mainframe Developer - CICS Development

Role Overview

We are looking for a Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in CICS development to support critical healthcare business operations. The role involves building, enhancing, and maintaining mainframe applications in a z/OS environment while working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Primary Technical Requirements

• Strong practical experience with CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Working knowledge of the z/OS mainframe platform.
• Good understanding of batch jobs as well as online transaction processing.
• Hands-on experience in scheduling and monitoring jobs using CA7 or a similar tool.
• Exposure to mainframe utilities and support tools such as File-Aid, Endevor, Xpeditor, and Abend-Aid.
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms, with ServiceNow preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and support mainframe applications used in UHG business functions.
• Develop and maintain batch programs and online modules for healthcare-related systems.
• Investigate issues in production and non-production environments and determine root causes.
• Resolve DB2 abends, JCL failures, CICS-related problems, and data defects.
• Actively take part in Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work with offshore/onshore teams and client contacts to clarify requirements and close defects.
• Adhere to compliance, security, and audit requirements defined by UHG.
• Prepare and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with release execution and validate systems after deployment.

Preferred Domain Knowledge

• Exposure to healthcare systems and business processes.
• Understanding of HIPAA-compliant applications and sensitive data handling.
• Experience in environments where delivery is measured against SLAs and KPIs.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum-based development practices.

Compensation

The role offers an annual salary in the range of INR 20,00,000 to INR 25,00,000.
