Role Overview

As our clientele grows swiftly, AI plays a pivotal part in scaling and adding value. We seek a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer at the senior level who can deliver promptly without sacrificing quality. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of ML pipelines and influencing product features that generate tangible, real-world benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain scalable machine learning models aimed at optimizing and automating logistics workflows for customers.
• Take complete ownership of projects, from defining problems and exploring data sets to deploying models and monitoring them in production environments.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure ML initiatives are aligned with client requirements and contribute to business value creation.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor within the machine learning group by performing code reviews and enforcing standards for reproducibility, quality, and high performance.
• Assess and integrate new tools and frameworks to enhance ML infrastructure and operational workflows.
• Contribute strategically to shaping Canals' future as we scale alongside our customers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven senior-level experience in developing and deploying ML models in live production settings.
• Skilled in designing scalable data pipelines and handling large-scale datasets efficiently.
• Capable of managing projects end-to-end, ensuring machine learning solutions provide measurable benefits to customers.
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming, with familiarity in ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and data processing tools including Pandas and Spark.
• Competent in mentoring peers by delivering constructive code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Experience working autonomously within dynamic, product-driven companies.
• Background in startup environments or small teams considered advantageous.
• Knowledge of MLOps concepts and associated tools is preferred.
