Role overview

This position involves operating tube laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment in Coimbatore. The role centers on preparing the machine, processing tubular and structural materials, checking part accuracy, and keeping production running safely and efficiently.

Machine setup and operation

Prepare and run tube laser cutting machines such as Trumpf, BLM, Mazak, and Amada models.
Feed in and remove tubes, pipes, and structural sections from the machine.
Tune machine parameters according to the material, thickness, and job requirements.
Ensure the workpiece is positioned, aligned, and clamped correctly before cutting.

Technical drawing interpretation

Study blueprints, CAD files, and work orders to understand the job.
Work to the dimensions, tolerances, and material details specified in the drawing package.

Quality control

Examine finished cuts for dimensional accuracy, edge finish, and tolerance compliance.
Use measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to confirm output quality.
Spot and correct alignment or cutting issues during production whenever possible.

Maintenance and troubleshooting

Carry out basic upkeep such as cleaning lenses, nozzles, and filters.
Diagnose common machine faults, alarms, and cut-quality problems.
Escalate technical or mechanical breakdowns to maintenance staff or supervisors.

Records and reporting

Keep production logs, inspection checklists, and machine maintenance records updated.
Monitor material consumption and report scrap or rework as required.

Safety and workplace standards

Observe all shop-floor safety rules, including PPE use and lockout/tagout procedures.
Maintain a tidy and well-organized work area.
Follow company procedures and manufacturing quality standards at all times.

Additional skills preferred

Ability to operate a crane for handling heavy materials.
Exposure to bevel cutting, rotary-axis work, or multi-axis laser systems.
Willingness to cross-train on flat laser machines or other fabrication equipment.

Compensation

The role offers a monthly salary in the range of INR 20,000 to INR 27,000.
