About the Role
We are seeking a driven Junior Purchasing Assistant to become a key member of our Procurement team. This position is perfectly suited for recent graduates eager to gain experience in procurement, supplier coordination, and supply chain management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders accurately.
- Communicate with suppliers to manage quotations, deliveries, and invoices.
- Maintain comprehensive procurement records and manage supplier databases.
- Monitor stock levels and help with replenishing inventory.
- Track purchase orders and oversee delivery timelines.
- Support supplier onboarding by handling necessary documentation.
- Contribute to procurement reporting and analyze relevant data.
- Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies.
- Work collaboratively with finance and warehouse departments to address procurement challenges.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving procurement processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous internship or placement in procurement, logistics or operational roles.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles.
