Role Overview
This Junior Immigration Lawyer position is offered on a full-time basis with a hybrid work model that permits working remotely part of the time. The successful candidate will support the preparation and submission of visa applications, including those sponsored by employers, and assist senior legal professionals through conducting legal research, preparing cases, and reviewing documents.
Core duties include drafting legal submissions and client communications, maintaining precise case records, and tracking deadlines and updates in immigration laws and policies.
The job requires engaging with clients to collect necessary information, clarify application requirements, and provide status updates while ensuring all actions comply with Australian immigration laws and regulations. Collaboration with internal teams on process enhancement initiatives and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality legal services is also expected.
Qualifications and Skills
- Exceptional legal research and analytical skills with an ability to interpret and apply Australian immigration law and policies.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills for drafting submissions, legal advice, and client correspondence.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities, with a keen eye for detail in document and case management.
- Client-focused attitude, able to establish rapport, handle sensitive data, and manage client expectations professionally and ethically.
- Ability to work independently and in collaborative teams within a hybrid working environment, utilizing standard productivity and case management software.
- Possession of a law degree (LLB or equivalent) and eligibility to practice law, or in the process of admission, in an Australian jurisdiction.
- Prior interest or experience in immigration law, administrative law, or related fields is advantageous.
- Knowledge of employer-sponsored visa programs and migration processes is a plus.
