Junior Barista

Position Overview

Join Cherry Beans in Doha as a Junior Barista, where you will craft a variety of espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages adhering to standardized recipes and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee drinks including espresso, americano, latte, cappuccino, flat white, and other specialty beverages following set guidelines.
• Operate espresso machines and grinders, managing coffee dosing, tamping, and extraction processes effectively.
• Ensure consistent coffee quality, taste, appearance, and precise portion control in every serving.
• Carry out daily bar setup and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and service areas.
• Support brewing using manual techniques like pour-over and French press.
• Serve both hot and cold drinks while complying with food and beverage safety standards.
• Deliver friendly, prompt customer service and handle customer requests with professionalism.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, syrups, cups and notify supervisors of supply shortages.
• Participate in receiving, storing, and rotating stock as needed.
• Adhere strictly to hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.
• Assist senior baristas and café team to manage busy periods efficiently.
• Help with cashier duties, order taking, and ensuring accuracy of customer orders when necessary.
• Continuously learn about coffee origins, flavor profiles, brewing methods, and develop basic latte art skills.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent; barista or hospitality training is a plus.
• Prior experience in cafes, restaurants, or customer service preferred.
• Basic understanding of specialty coffee, espresso preparation, and manual brewing methods.
• Familiar with espresso machines, coffee grinders, and barista tools.
• Knowledge of beverage preparation, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Strong communication and customer service capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced café environment.
• Eagerness to acquire coffee preparation and latte art techniques.
