Junior Artworker

About the Role

BSI Merch, a global leader with over 30 years' experience in online retail and merchandise solutions for the music and entertainment sectors, is seeking a meticulous and enthusiastic Junior Artworker to join their growing Berlin team. Operating from hubs in London, Berlin, and Tokyo, the company collaborates with internationally renowned artists and clients. This role entails supporting the design team by creating detailed technical specification packs, preparing client artwork for printing, and assisting the Ecomm team with webstore imagery, all within a fast-paced and collaborative setting valuing precision and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer daily artworking assistance to the Head of Design and the wider design team.
• Prepare artwork suitable for a variety of print formats adhering to print-ready standards.
• Develop detailed spec sheets and technical packs to guide client briefs and production activities.
• Generate and update all necessary imagery for client web stores, working closely with the Ecomm team to maintain consistent online merchandise displays.
• Coordinate with the production team to align artwork with print specifications, overseeing aspects like color accuracy, layout, and image resolution.
• Identify and resolve artworking and print-related issues to ensure a seamless transition from concept to production.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including A&R, Account Management, Touring, Ecomm, and Production to realize project goals.

Desired Qualifications

• Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Exceptional organizational abilities to manage priorities within a fast-moving, deadline-sensitive environment.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Knowledge of print processes, especially screen and apparel printing, is advantageous.
• Passionate about the music sector and experienced in creating artwork for artists and merchandise.
• Capable of preparing consistent, print-ready artwork for various merchandise items while staying updated with industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with teams and clients.
• Fluent business-level English is required; German language skills are a plus.
• Available full-time to work onsite five days a week at the East Kreuzberg, Berlin office.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience working within the music industry, collaborating on diverse artist projects.
• Expertise in finalizing files for both screen and digital printing methodologies.
• Strong time-management skills with proven success in meeting deadlines and project specifications.
