Job Overview

The Janitor position involves thorough cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas in one or more buildings. Duties vary depending on client needs and may change accordingly, requiring flexibility. The role offers a $15 hourly wage with weekly payments and options for part-time or full-time schedules.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
• Adhere to guidelines for using chemical cleaners and powered equipment to avoid damage to floors and property
• Keep restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entrance areas clean and orderly
• Empty trash receptacles and use compactors for certain wastes
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with suitable products and tools
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and assist in deep carpet cleaning tasks like extraction and shampooing
• Restock paper goods and sanitary supplies as needed
• Follow a structured cleaning schedule
• Operate heavy cleaning machinery occasionally, including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers
• Perform additional tasks as required by work scope or customer instructions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six months experience in janitorial work
• Willingness to undergo on-the-job training
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand and follow directions effectively

Preferred Experience

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience
• Knowledge of custodial techniques and commercial cleaning standards
• Familiarity with floor care methods such as buffing and waxing
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facility maintenance
