Our Finance department plays a vital role by delivering strategic financial insights and supporting our Co-op and stores to succeed. Role Overview
As the IT Asset Accountant, you will oversee the financial management and reporting related to IT projects and assets. Your role is crucial in maintaining precise and compliant financial records aligned with accounting standards and company policies. This position requires strong collaboration with IT and Finance stakeholders to support project execution, cost oversight, and accounting best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of IT project accounting, including setup, financial management, reporting, and asset capitalisation.
- Oversee project financials, covering labour expenses, external costs, and conduct monthly financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain SAP project structures ensuring data accuracy across systems.
- Generate reports to aid in project monitoring and informed decision-making.
- Handle IT asset capitalisation, depreciation, and maintain the fixed asset register accurately.
- Carry out reconciliations, analyze discrepancies, and assist with impairment reviews.
- Ensure compliance with capital expenditure policies and uphold robust financial controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field and is actively pursuing CA qualification.
- Possesses working knowledge of New Zealand IFRS with real-world experience in project accounting, fixed assets, or IT financial environments.
- Has experience in large, complex organisations, with proficiency in SAP highly advantageous.
- Skilled in analyzing financial data, pinpointing issues, and influencing stakeholder decisions.
- Demonstrates clear communication abilities and the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Exhibits a proactive, inquisitive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
