Role Summary
The Inventory Team Lead is responsible for managing and guiding a team of inventory operators to ensure precise and efficient warehouse stock management, from receipt through cycle counts and comprehensive reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the inventory operations team, providing mentorship, support, and direction.
- Manage processes related to receiving, storage, stock counting, and tracking inventory levels, working collaboratively with other departments to enhance inventory workflows.
- Delegate tasks and uphold compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety measures.
- Conduct training sessions for team members on operational procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Perform regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and discrepancy analyses for reconciliation.
- Track stock movements and levels, maintain accurate records, and produce key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to coordinate inbound shipments and address receiving issues.
- Support upkeep of a tidy, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
- Prepare detailed inventory performance reports and present findings to senior leadership.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse or inventory management with proven leadership capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of inventory control principles and related management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems (IMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and relevant software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a commitment to ongoing process improvement.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Possession of NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Residency within Abuja, Nigeria is required.
