About Supply Chain
The Supply Chain team manages the entire flow of materials, products, and components essential to Rocket Lab’s programs. They enable assembly of Electron and Neutron rockets by preparing kits, managing inventory, facilitating shipping and receiving, procuring supplies, inspecting materials, and ensuring compliance with standards. This team is crucial to the success of production and mission outcomes.
Role Overview
Located at the Auckland Production Complex, the Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of thousands of parts and hundreds of orders to internal and external customers with just-in-time delivery. The role supports production teams to meet daily and weekly targets, managing deviations and prioritizations to ensure supply chain delivery performance, including Delivery In Full, On Time (DIFOT), while maintaining high service standards and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming goods on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis following all standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining precise stock rotation and inventory records within the LN system.
- Investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies and carry out daily cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness aligned with 5S methodology.
- Deliver required components, production kits, and Kanban materials punctually to uphold production schedules.
- Pick, pack, dispatch items accurately, and perform logistics runner duties as part of operational support.
- Replenish raw materials and collaborate with other teams to overcome bottlenecks and streamline processes.
- Provide courteous and knowledgeable service to walk-up customer inquiries.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any incidents or near misses promptly.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Willingness and ability to work a night shift schedule (40 hours per week) Monday to Thursday from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Over 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced stores environment handling inwards and outwards goods, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or aviation sectors.
- Hands-on experience in stock control and quality assurance processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with a systematic and methodical approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills enabling effective collaboration in a demanding, customer-oriented setting.
- Experience working under pressure and managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- Reliability and openness to work additional hours when necessary.
- Team player with a proactive mindset committed to delivering results.
Working Conditions
The position may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
