Overview

We seek a distinguished expert blending advanced blockchain analysis expertise with leadership capabilities to enhance full-spectrum cyberspace operations at Joint Activities LLP, located in Fort Meade, MD.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage recognized blockchain analysis skills alongside leadership to support organizational objectives.
Assess smart contracts, distributed ledger technologies, and decentralized finance systems to uncover security vulnerabilities and intelligence-gathering opportunities enhancing cybersecurity operations.
Effectively communicate intricate blockchain forensic concepts and cyber tradecraft in clear, non-technical language to diverse audiences.
Identify and utilize methods, processes, algorithms, and tools to extract and analyze data from structured and unstructured data sources within the data science lifecycle.
Develop and deliver up-to-date training sessions for teams on advances in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
Apply foundational computer science theories to map adversarial financial networks in cyber contexts.

Employment Conditions

Appointment contingent upon suitability and fitness as determined by background checks.
Position classified as a Testing Designated Position requiring passing initial and random drug tests.
Must obtain and sustain a TOP SECRET Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance and complete a counterintelligence polygraph exam.
A trial or probationary period of three years may be required.
Occasional travel up to 25% on military or commercial flights may be necessary.
Mandatory signing of DA Form 5019-R related to the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
Periodic urinalysis testing required before appointment and throughout employment tenure.
Compliance with NSA personnel security standards per NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.

Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy educational and experience prerequisites as specified below. All experience, including paid, unpaid, and volunteer contributions, will be credited where relevant. Transcripts and supporting documents will be required.

Educational Requirements

Computer Scientist GG-1550: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, or a related degree with at least 30 semester hours in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, including 15 semester hours in mathematics and statistics with calculus.
Data Scientist GG-1560: Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science within an appropriate major field.
Combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience in areas such as developing technical solutions, applying scientific methodologies, tracking digital asset flows for cyber operations, and leading cybersecurity teams.

Additional Requirements

Foreign education credentials must be evaluated and certified equivalent to accredited U.S. programs.
Female and male applicants must meet selective service and citizenship verification requirements.
Employees must meet continuous professional development standards and qualify for designated cyber roles within required timeframes.
