HVAC Technician (Applied & DX)

Overview

The HVAC Technician specializing in Applied and DX systems will play a key role in the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment to guarantee reliable performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. Situated in Doha, Qatar, this role requires practical technical skills, effective diagnostic capabilities, and strict adherence to safety and service quality protocols. The technician is expected to carry out service tasks independently at client sites while collaborating closely with supervisors and the service team to fulfil contractual service level agreements and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Applied components such as Chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), as well as DX and VRV/VRF systems.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system faults efficiently.
• Assist in commissioning, operational checks, and routine maintenance activities to uphold OEM standards.
• Diagnose root causes of system failures and implement measures to reduce repeated malfunctions.
• Enhance system performance by conducting appropriate servicing, parameter reviews, and minor adjustments.
• Refer complex or recurring technical challenges to supervisors when necessary.
• Serve as the technical liaison during on-site visits by maintaining professional communication with customers.
• Communicate clearly service procedures, diagnostics, and suggested solutions to clients.
• Ensure quality of service and satisfaction during every customer interaction.
• Prepare and submit accurate service reports, checklists, and documentation timely.
• Log all system data, faults, and corrective actions diligently.
• Collaborate with supervisors, planners, and spare parts units to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Comply rigorously with all safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and permit systems.
• Handle tools, equipment, and refrigerants safely and responsibly.
• Engage in continuous learning by updating product knowledge, service methods, and HVAC technological advancements through training and field application.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical diploma such as ITI or diploma in Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a comparable qualification.
• At least three years of practical HVAC service experience encompassing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with DX and VRV/VRF systems as well as Applied equipment like Chillers, AHUs, and FCUs.
• Strong capability in troubleshooting electrical and refrigeration systems.
• Basic understanding of HVAC controls and ability to interpret schematic diagrams.
• Ability to operate autonomously at customer locations.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with both manual and digital service reporting tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Possession of a valid Qatar Driving License is advantageous.
