Role overview

This position is for an HSE Auditor based in Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on auditing and strengthening HSE management systems across projects, suppliers, contractors, and operational sites.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain yearly HSE audit plans and schedules.
• Carry out internal, supplier, contractor, and site audits to confirm alignment with company, client, and legal expectations.
• Check how well HSE policies, procedures, controls, and management systems are working in practice.
• Verify compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, relevant legal obligations, and client-specific standards.
• Examine risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, and safe work methods.
• Perform site walks and workplace observations to spot unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
• Compile clear audit reports covering findings, gaps, observations, and improvement actions.
• Track corrective and preventive actions until all audit items are closed out.
• Study audit patterns to identify repeated issues that need management attention.
• Take part in incident investigations and confirm that corrective measures are effective.
• Review HSE performance data and suggest ways to improve continuously.
• Support management reviews and compliance checks.
• Guide project teams on audit expectations and compliance duties.
• Work closely with project management, operations, and HSE teams during audit activities.
• Keep audit files, records, and compliance databases updated and organized.
• Help prepare for external audits, client audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Encourage a strong safety culture and ongoing improvement across the organization.
• Carry out any other HSE duties assigned by management.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or an equivalent discipline.
• NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
• IRCA-certified Lead Auditor credentials for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 are required.
• Overall HSE experience of 5–7 years in EPC projects and major industrial sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, and similar process industries.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience conducting HSE audits, compliance assessments, and management system audits.
• Proven background in auditing Integrated Management Systems against ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and client-specific HSE requirements.
• Solid understanding of HSE management systems and auditing practices.
• Training in Root Cause Analysis and incident investigation.
• Competence in risk assessment and Job Safety Analysis.
• Strong report-writing, analytical, and presentation abilities.
• Good communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle several audit assignments at once.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and international HSE best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
