Housekeeper

Role Overview

We are inviting applications for a committed and meticulous Housekeeper to join Sunnyside Communities in Martinsville, VA. This full-time, Monday-Friday position from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM centers around preserving cleanliness and sanitation in designated spaces to foster a safe and inviting atmosphere for guests and staff alike. The position demands a diligent approach to detail, significantly enhancing guest experience and operational workflow.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• Mandatory prior cleaning experience.
• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Capability to work independently without constant oversight.
• Possession of a valid driver's license complying with company standards.
• Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
• Exhibit excellent customer service with a hospitable attitude towards everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean assigned resident rooms and buildings thoroughly and within specified timeframes using approved cleaning methods.
• Perform floor care tasks, including dry and wet mopping and sweeping using sanitized equipment.
• Vacuum carpets and rugs utilizing clean vacuum bags.
• Dust furniture and window sills appropriately with treated and damp cloths respectively.
• Disinfect resident and public bathrooms and monitor supply inventory, replenishing as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of stairways, elevators, entrances, and exits with suitable cleaning agents.
• Report housekeeping and maintenance needs promptly using designated forms.
• Maintain and clean work equipment such as carts, buckets, and mops to ensure functionality.
• Identify and communicate any unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.
• Ensure supply levels are sufficient and regularly check key cleaning areas for restocking needs.
• Safely operate various cleaning machines including floor scrubbers, extractors, and vacuum cleaners.
• Carefully handle cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety instructions and have knowledge of safety data sheets.
• Evaluate cleanliness standards across all areas.
• Adapt cleaning duties flexibly according to residents' needs within set fees.
• Routine cleaning of light fixtures, handrails, and hallway decorations.
• Perform window cleaning inside and outside using appropriate tools safely.
• Dispose of trash properly and regularly from assigned areas.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is from $13.00 to $17.55 per hour.
