Head of Retail Operations

Role Overview

This position is for a Head of Retail Operations in the FMCG sector based in Dublin. The role is responsible for improving sales and profitability across the client’s business and retail partner network, while ensuring day-to-day operations are delivered to the required brand standard.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination across the Head of Marketing, Retail Network Manager, Food Strategy & Convenience Manager, the wider retail function, wholesale partners, support teams, and licensees, helping the organisation deliver its plans and objectives for the company-owned retail network.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

• Previous head office experience within a convenience or grocery retail environment.
• Strong operational background working with independent retailers or store managers.
• Hands-on exposure to both sales and retail operations.
• Demonstrated success in executing retail marketing and promotional activity across multiple sites.
• Ability to use customer insight and retail performance data to improve results.
• Comfortable working in a KPI-driven environment.
• Experience working with FMCG brands.
• Understanding of wholesale business operations.
• Solid financial and commercial judgement.
• Track record of successfully leading teams.
• Capability to engage senior stakeholders on delivery of the 2028 retail strategy.
• Attendance at part of the monthly Board Meetings is required.
• Responsibility for hosting quarterly Retail Reviews.
• Ability to maintain active relationships with key industry bodies and individuals.

Core Responsibilities

The role includes oversight across management and retail operations, wholesale partners and food franchises, business planning and alcohol controls, marketing, administration for company-owned sites, group debtor policies, and overall strategic direction.
