Role Overview

The Head of IT Administration role is a full-time position based in Fernwald, with flexible hybrid work arrangements including remote work options. This leadership position is responsible for the comprehensive administration of the organization's IT infrastructure, encompassing servers, networks, cloud platforms, and business-critical applications. The scope includes managing system uptime and performance, implementing and overseeing IT security protocols, and ensuring robust data backup and restoration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of IT infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Supervise IT support teams, address escalated technical issues promptly, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Coordinate IT security strategies, including access controls, encryption, monitoring, and incident management.
• Lead service provider management, including oversight of service level agreements and third-party evaluations.
• Contribute to IT strategic planning, budgeting, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Foster team development through leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Collaborate across departments to align IT services with evolving business and product needs.
• Support off-hours activities when necessary to maintain critical systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven expertise in IT infrastructure management, including servers, network administration, virtualization, and cloud technology.
• Strong knowledge of IT security principles and practical experience with tools for access control, encryption, and incident response.
• Experience in operational IT processes such as maintenance, upgrades, backups, and documentation.
• Competence in managing external vendors and service agreements effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and developing IT teams.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges with practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in regulated sectors like healthcare or emergency services and familiarity with German data protection laws is advantageous.
• Readiness to work in a hybrid setting and accommodate occasional after-hours responsibilities.
